KING TRAN NHAN TONG

On the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the King Tran Nhan Tong's death, thousands of Buddhist monks and followers attend the events are being held from November 25 to 28, 2008. King Tran Nhan Tong who real name Tran Kham was born November 11, 1258 and became the King of Dai Viet as he was 21 and well-known as mastermind of the victory over the Mongolian invader in 1285 and 1288 on Bach Dang river. He leaved the monarchy when he was 35 and also became the Buddhist monk as the first zen master of the Vietnamese Buddhism factor Truc Lam Yen Tu when he was 41.
